Yeah, nothing you can do against Pegasus Fantasy. A bit repetitive, but could have been worse. The french version is ok, following the french title of Ken the survivor. My recent trip to Japan proved that without a doubt, the opening blasting out of pachinko rooms every few blocks. Nothing will ever top Ai wo torimodose, let's agree on that. That trend dominated anime in France, because TV channels didn't buy series as a whole, but in parts. You will notice a stark difference: where the japanese one is a completely original peice of animation, the french one is just an edit of scenes from the first few episodes. The original City Hunter opening is slick and hard to beat:īut, the french one is not that bad at all, with good lyrics and a decent singer: His daughter is Emma de Caunes, and she was the voice of the protagonist in Beyond Good & Evil.

The original opening is sung by a woman in a very James Bond-esque manner: We were the biggest export of anime early on but since we dub everything, the opening was often replaced with french lyrics on the original song, or entirely replaced with a new song. I'm biased since I grew up there, but I think France wins this by a long shot.
